The owner, David McKenzie, didn’t find this line of work — he grew up in it. Raised on a dairy farm right here in Galway, David has been running equipment and working the land since he was a kid. That background isn’t just part of his story; it shapes how he approaches every job. He knows what overgrown brush looks like when it’s been spreading for ten years. He knows how to read a property and figure out the most efficient, cleanest way to get it cleared.
Upstate NY Brush Control was started with a simple idea: do the work right, be straight with customers, and show up when you say you will. David has over a decade of hands-on equipment experience, and his goal is to bring that same level of skill and honesty to every job, regardless of size.
There’s a lot of land in upstate New York that needs attention — fence lines that haven’t been touched in years, fields growing in with saplings, wooded areas that need thinning, and driveways that have been narrowed by encroaching brush. Property owners often know their land needs work but don’t always know where to start or who to trust.
David started this business to fill that gap. He understands what land means to the people who own it and takes care of every property the way he’d want his own taken care of.
